Soccer beat writers

One of the tenets of the Bay State Soccer Sentinel is not existing purely to scoop other journos on the Revolution/soccer beat here in New England. Are we a news agency? Yes. But we are incredibly supportive of our colleagues on Blue Level, and we want them to succeed just as much as we want to succeed. We are all working for one thing: to inform the soccer fans of New England.

Frank Dell’apa
The dean of the Boston soccer press corps is a correspondent for The Boston Globe, as well as for the New England Soccer Journal.

Julian Cardillo
Formerly with The Boston Globe, Julian writes for ProSoccerUSA.com and, like Frank, is one of the best in the business. While ProSoccerUSA is in hiatus, Julian has, like me, started his own coverage portal, Cover The Pitch. You can find his ProSoccerUSA work at this dedicated link.

Jason York
A freelance writer from West Hartford, Jason covers the Revs for MLSSoccer.com. You can find his work at this dedicated link.

John “Jocko” Connolly
The elder statesman of the Boston soccer press corps, Jocko covers the Revs for The Boston Herald/Digital First Media.

Kyle McCarthy
The assistant editor and senior writer at the New England Soccer Journal. Kyle gets the first question in post-match pressers. You can find his work here.

Jonathan Sigal
The Director of Content of the New England Soccer Journal‘s paper edition and website. Jonathan also covered the Revs for MLSSoccer.com for several years before shifting into an editorial role. You can find him tweeting about the team all the time.

Sam Stejskal
Sam is a staff writer for The Athletic after being a lead writer on MLSSoccer.com for many years. You can find his work at this dedicated link.

Tanner Rebelo
Tanner is the founder and Chief of Content for the Rhode Island-based Trifecta Network.

Hayden Bird
Hayden covers the Revs for The Boston Globe and Boston.com. You can find his work at this dedicated link.

Jeff Lemieux
Jeff is the senior staff writer for RevolutionSoccer.net, and has been a part of the Revolution organization for over a decade.

Elizabeth Pehota
Elizabeth is the host of the Revolution pre-match show on Facebook Live, and is the web host of the Revs on social media. She also pens features for RevolutionSoccer.net.

The Bent Musket
A blog devoted to the New England Revolution of MLS, featuring news, views, and opinion. TBM features a variety of writers, including Seth Macomber, Jake Catanese, Josh Nye, and Matt Medoff.

Tom Quinlan
Tom is the lone radio guy on Blue Level, and like me, throws no-nonsense questions. He works for WPRO Radio out of Providence.

PODCASTS

Our podcasters are some of the best in the business, and they are on after every match, giving their views and insights. We support all of our brothers and sisters in the podcast realm, especially those who cover the club.

Six States One Podcast
One of our favorites, and that’s not because we’re a contributor. Ray Sullivan, Jon Huot, and Alex Almeida (and occasionally Eric Spence) run down the weekend that was, speak with a member of the Revolution press corps, as well as preview the match ahead. Find them here, as they are For Supporters, By Supporters.

Revolution Recap
Another solid pod with some grizzled vets of the Revs press corps. Greg Johnstone, Sean Donahue, and Brian O’Connell host, and they get right into the nitty gritty. Find them here.

NERevs UK

Doesn’t everything sound smarter with a British accent? Our friend Mike has been talking about all things Revolution “from an English perspective” for the last couple of seasons, and he is a must listen. Find him here.
