A blow for Tottenham Hotspur.
The North London club announced that striker Son Heung-min is expected to miss the remainder of the 2019-20 campaign after fracturing his right arm during Sunday’s 3-2 win over Aston Villa.
Heung-min suffered the injury in the match’s first minute, but went on to score twice, including a stoppage-time winner that moved Spurs up to fifth and into a Champions League spot, one point behind fourth-place Chelsea. He has scored in his last five appearances for the Tottenham.
The 27-year-old South Korean international is expected to have surgery this week, and will miss a number of weeks.
Spurs currently has three healthy strikers, with Brazilian Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn, and 18-year-old Troy Parrott fit.
The injury is just the latest in a number of setbacks for Spurs, who lost striker Harry Kane to injury early last month, and transferred Christian Eriksen to Italy before the close of the January transfer window.
