If there’s anyone out there in Revolution Colony worried about Matt Turner leaving Foxborough for overseas, their concerns turned into a moot point Tuesday afternoon.
The Revolution announced the club has signed the Garden State native to a contract extension, keeping him in the Navy Blues through 2024.
While terms of the deal were not disclosed in a release per club policy, Turner noted during a Zoom call this afternoon that he had three years remaining on the deal he signed in Summer 2019. He noted the new deal gives him an extra year, as well as gives him more money, to boot.
Turner is entering his sixth professional season with the Revs. He has made 69 starts in the league and boasts a 24-21-23 record with 16 clean sheets to his tally.
He is currently with the US national team’s January camp.
