The Revolution announced Wednesday they have signed 18-year-old Waltham native Dennis Ramirez, a defensive-minded midfielder in the Revolution Academy, to a USL League One contract with Revolution II. The signing is pending approval from both the league and the US Soccer Federation.
Ramirez is the second active player within the Academy ranks to apply his John Hancock to a USL League One contract, after 17-year-old Roxbury native Meny Silva signed on Jan. 21.
According to a release from the club, Ramirez joined the Academy in 2018, where he has made 30 starts and 33 total appearances with the U19s. He has appeared in all four preseason friendlies for Revs II, including Saturday evening’s closed-door friendly with the University of New Hampshire at Gillette Stadium.
The Revs II roster now stands at 15.
