2′ Corner to United.

6′ DC with most of the ball so far. A few turnovers by the Revs in the midfield.

9′ Ugh. Don’t want to see Gil hobbling. Corner to the Revs.

10′ Nice ideas by Gil and Jones on a free kick, Tajon lost it in the box. Corner to the Revs.

11′ McNamara with a drive… off Kessler’s head. Don’t think that was how they drew it up.

13′ Corner for the Revs. Their third….

14′ McNamara with a shot to Hamid, but Asad with the foul sets up a free kick and a caution.

15′ Shot on target by Gil on the free kick, Hamid parries for the corner.

18′ Revs now with more of the ball and are trying to get creative. Jones is down and looks like he is done. Brandon Bye coming in.

20′ Bye is in.

21′ And his first touch is to cut down a DC counter.

22′ GOAL DC UNITED. Flores to Asad, and he one-times it, unmarked, into the net. 1-nil to DC. McNamara drifted away and didn’t have his head on a swivel.

23′ Corner to the Revs.

26′ Free kick to DC.

27′ GOAL DC UNITED. Oh bleep. Asad takes the free kick, gets out to Yow off the wall, and his shot is deflected in by Kessler. Own Goal. 2-nil.

29′ PENALTY TO NEW ENGLAND. Canouse takes down Buksa in the box, and I think that is DOGSO. It is a yellow, though.

30′ GOAL NEW ENGLAND. Gil’s penalty goes off the post, but Buksa is the right place for the rebound, and he pops in his 6th goal of the year off his left ankle. 2-1.

34′ Buchanan’s cross goes right through the box.

35′ Turner with the save on that one, DC had the left wide open.

38′ Another corner to the Revs.

41′ Big save Hamid as Gil feed Buksa, stopped at close range… corner to the Revs.

42′ Save Hamid.

45′ Büttner with a cross, right to Hamid… two minutes minimum added on.

45+1′ MCNAMARA. He has a shot off a pass from Gil and the backheel by Tajon, but Hamid with the save for another Revs corner.

Half

Sweens’ Halftime Thoughts and some numbers:

The defending has been rubbish. The midfield has been rubbish. Sure, you have the possession numbers, but what have you done with it?

Good on the Revs for fighting back.

68.4 percent of the ball

85 percent passing accuracy

10 shots, 5 on-target

Second Half Underway

46′ Bou in for Caldwell. All three DPs on the field for New England. Three subs left.

47′ Corner to the Revs.

49′ Yow’s cross corralled by Turner…. other way, Büttner’s cross gets slowed by the wet turf, goes to Hamid.

50′ Corner to DC.

52′ Büttner shoots into the stands.

53′ Corner to the Revs off Büttner’s meg on Yow.

54′ GOAL NEW ENGLAND, and it’s an Own Goal off Tajon Buchanan’s cross. Nice cycling, and Canouse has the OG into the roof. 2-2

58′ Subs for DC. Kamara off in favor of Rivas in one of them, Sorga for Reyna the other.

61′ Hamid with the save on Bou.

62′ Gil is offside.

67′ GOAL REVOLUTION, and Teal Bunbury scores his first of the season at home, that’s his seventh. That was a lightning strike, and a great first touch by Tajon to make space for himself. 3-2 Revs.

69′ Free kick to DC.

70′ Gil is getting stretched out by Bou, and now Nguyen is coming in for him.

75′ Corner to DC…. GOAL DC UNITED. Rivas with the goal after Pines clears out McNamara. 3-3.

81′ Free kick to the Revs.

84′ Bou pulls it wide after he eases past Canouse.

84′ GOAL REVOLUTION, and it’s Teal Bunbury again! Hamid denies Buksa, and Bunbury is right there to slot the rebound in. 4-3 to the Revs.

86′ Polster in for Tajon.

88′ Corner to the Revs after Bou’s shot is deflected.

90′ Three minutes minimum added on.

90+3′ Bye smartly concedes a corner, Hamid joins in…. foul on DC, and that should do it.

It’s an historic night for the Revolution: tonight will be their first-ever regular-season match in Major League Soccer played in the month of November. In addition, Diego Fagundez is set to become the all-time leader in league appearances for the Revolution should he make an appearance tonight. The Leominster native is tied for the lead with Shalrie Joseph; both have made 261 appearances in a New England shirt.

Should the Revs win tonight, it’ll be the first time they’ve beaten DC United three times in a season since 2005.

DC United comes into this match winners of its last three and three out of its last five since it sacked Ben Olsen on Oct. 8.

On YELLOW CARD WATCH: Matt Polster for New England, and Junior Moreno for DC United. Both will see a suspension for the season finale should referee Dave Gantar issue a caution their way.

Ola Kamara leads United with three goals in 2020.

No new injuries for New England. Not medically cleared for DC: Paul Arriola, Felipe Martins, Ulises Segura, Mohammen Abu, Steven Birnbaum, Chris Odoi-Atsem.

This is DC United’s first appearance at Gillette in nearly a year and a half. Its last appearance was a 1-1 draw on May 25, 2019.

The Revs are 18-10-9 at home against DC, and are 29-34-15 overall.

Lee Nguyen is 126 minutes away from hitting the 20,000-minute mark. Should he start, it would be his 225th in MLS.

Tommy McNamara would make his 100th start in MLS should Bruce Arena look his way tonight.
