Sweens’ Halftime Thoughts and some numbers…

Really interesting. Revs showing you don’t need a lot of possession to take a lead. Bruce says “We have to compete better” after saying that the back line is getting pushed around. He may be correct.

5 shots, 3 on-target

42.2 percent possession

78 percent passing accuracy

0 percent accurate on crosses

Orlando City will be without Ruan and goalkeeper Pedro Gallese via suspension today. Dom Dwyer and Sebastian Mendez are not medically cleared.

Orlando’s Antonio Carlos, Robin Jansson, and Andres Perea, and New England’s Matt Polster will be suspended for the conference final should they see yellow today.

Orlando only had one goal in the postseason, with Nani scoring it. Chris Mueller led the way with 10 goals in 2020’s regular season, followed by Darryl Dike’s 8, and Nani’s 6. The Lions spread the scoring around, with nine players scoring at least one goal, and seven registering multi-goal seasons.

The last time these two sides faced each other was Sept 14 of last year, a 3-3 draw that was rather spirited. The Revs have never won in this venue (0-3-4 in all competitions), with its only win coming against Montreal up the road in July.

Sunday will see former college teammates going up against each other, as Henry Kessler and Dike were teammates at Virginia, while Tajon Buchanan and Kemal Miller were at Syracuse.

The Lions are 7-1-3 in all competitions at home in 2020. There are also expected to be a capacity crowd in the stands, according to Orlando City.

Just like Tuesday, Lee Nguyen is one minute away from 1,000 minutes played in MLS Cup Playoff matches. Andrew Farrell is 40 minutes away from 1,000 played.

Tajon Buchanan is the leader of all Canadian-born players in MLS in terms of matches played: he played in 23 regular season matches, with two playoff appearances.
