THE BROADCAST INFO: NBC Sports Boston/WBZ-FM 98.5/1260 AM (Portuguese)
THE SKINNY: This ain’t Dorval… nope, it’s the banks of the Passaic! The Revs travel to the Garden State to take on Montreal in what is an Impact home game. It’s the fourth meeting between the two in 2020, and with every team in MLS playing, New England needs a win.

We’re underway from Harrison. Your starting lineups and benches are live, and your match notes are below the running feed. Updates are periodic, and thanks for joining us here on the Soccer Sentinel.

1′ Büttner has a go and it sails over… we like that.

2′ Büttner’s cross is sharp, looking for Bunbury — how strong was Teal in holding play up and fighting Montreal there?! — goes out for a throw.

8′ Corner to the Revs. They are working this defense ragged already…. shot by Teal blocked, shouts for handling…

9′ Manneh with a shot, saved by Montreal’s back-up. Another corner…. headed over by Mancienne.

11′ Piette with a hard foul on Kelyn. No card issued.

13′ GOAL REVOLUTION, and it’s Kekuta Manneh on the helper by Adam Buksa. The press with the turnover, and Buksa smartly gives up the rock, and Manneh taps it in. 1-nil to TBIB. Credit Polster with the TO.

19′ Save Montreal on Diego. Well-weighted ball by Manneh. Diego needed to be faster. Corner.

20′ OFFSIDE. Takes a New England goal off the board as Büttner feeds him… and VAR is telling Joe Dickerson to take another look at this. Bunbury was held onside by the Montreal left back, he headed it in. Result of VAR: GOAL REVOLUTION. 2-nil

23′ Manneh pulls it wide off the combo.

24′ DIEGO. Just wide.

25′ Shome with a block on Bunbury off Büttner’s cross.

26′ Corner to the Revs.

27′ GOAL MONTREAL. Well now. The defense gets destroyed as Sejdic scores. Quioto gets by Delamea on a hesitation. Crosses. Tapped in. 2-1.

30′ Corner to the Revs. Fifth of the match.

31′ Quioto with a shot and a sharp save by Turner.

33′ Big try by Buksa off the turnover caused by Jones… big save. That was going in.

34′ Corner to the Revs.

36′ Manneh on the break, his shot is saved.

39′ Toye with a shot off-target.

41′ Manneh is down… his night might be done.

43′ He’s coming back on.

44′ Binks fouls Buksa, and he should be carded. Free kick to the Revs…. corner to the Revs. Seventh corner.

45′ And now Montreal’s Fanni is down. Waterman coming in. Three minutes minimum added on.

45+3′ Manneh’s shot is saved. Good pace on the run, not on the shot.

HALF

Sweens’ Halftime Thoughts and some numbers:

They smelled blood in the water and kept on the pressure. The mistake in the back has spoiled things… I will have more thoughts on that later. Hoping Manneh and Fanni are going to be OK… Manneh’s night is probably done. Mostly everyone in the Colonial kit are playing their asses off.

15 shots. 6 on-target. Five off, four blocked.

61 percent of the ball

Seven corner kicks to none.

83 percent passing accuracy

Second Half Underway

46′ Manneh off, Buchanan on. Corrales on for Bayiha.

48′ Corrales has a go on a loose ball, it goes into the South Ward.

50′ Buksa’s header goes wide. Nice service by Jones.

51′ Nice counter off Diego’s takeaway on Wanyama… Teal’s shot is wide. I’m with Charlie, TB10 needed to be unselfish.

52′ GOAL REVOLUTION, and it’s Buksa, off the takeaway by Mancienne… he is strong, first shot stopped, but the rebound comes to him, and he slots home. 3-1.

55′ Ballou Tabla on for Toye.

57′ Buksa is booked.

59′ Creative try by Bunbury on that volley, but it’s headed over.

62′ Turner with a save on Quioto… Wanyama takes the clearance and drives it into the South Ward.

69′ Binks with a drive, wide….

70′ Revs subs coming on, Bye for Büttner with Jones moving to left back, and Bou coming on for Rowe.

72′ Urruti coming on for Shome…. and the first corner for L’Impact.

73′ TURNER. He comes off his line as the ball squirts through and beyond Delamea… who thought Quioto was offside. Play to the whistle.

75′ Corner to Montreal.

77′ McNamara on for Fagundez.

83′ Tabla with a left-footed go.. into the South Ward…. Binks is cautioned later, he will serve a suspension this weekend.

84′ Teal with a header, and the keeper makes a stop.

87′ McNamara is booked for that foul on Urruti.

88′ Save Turner on Sejdic.

90′ Andrew Farrell coming on for Mancienne… maybe. Four minutes minimum added on.

90+2′ GOAL MONTREAL, and it’s Tabla. He sneaks by Polster. 3-2

90+3′ Farrell on for Bou instead.

Full Time

For the Revs:

Turner; Büttner, Delamea, Mancienne, Jones; Polster, Rowe; Manneh, Fagundez, Bunbury; Buksa
Bench: Knighton, Bou, Buchanan, Bye, S. Caldwell, Farrell, Kessler, McNamara, Nguyen

For L’Impact:

Pantemis; Shome, Camacho, Binks, Fanni, Bayiha; Sejdic, Wanyama, Piette; Quioto, Toye
Bench: Sirois, Corrales, Waterman, Yao, Tabla, Giraldo, Urruti

Gustavo Bou was listed on the Not Medically Cleared list, but it’s entirely possible that he is a match time decision. Jeff Lemieux reported that Bruce Arena hadn’t made a decision on Bou’s inclusion Tuesday. Cristian Penilla is “going to be out a while” and is on the NMC list for the Revolution.

OUT for Montreal: Steeven Saba, Mathieu Choniere, Orji Okwonkwo, Emanuel Maciel, Anthony Jackson-Hamel.

Luis Binks is on YELLOW CARD WATCH for Montreal: one more yellow card, and he will miss the next match. Samuel Piette is also two yellows away for Montreal. Matt Polster and Kelyn Rowe are two yellows away, and if my memory is correct, they are the first two Revolution players on YCW this season.

Romell Quioto is the scoring leader for L’Impact with six goals.

Revs are sixth in the East, while Montreal is eighth. We can consider this a rather important six-pointer.

Should the Revs pull out the victory tonight, it would be their first-ever regular-season win in this venue: New England is 0-9-2 here against the Red Bulls. It would be the sixth win away from Gillette including the neutral site win over Montreal in Florida this season; the Revs are at 17 points away from home. It would also mark the first time ever beating L’Impact three times in one season.

Teal Bunbury is two goals away from tying Joe-Max Moore for fifth in the all-time goals scored list in club history. He is three starts away from 200.

Diego Fagundez (257) is four appearances shy of tying Shalrie Joseph (261) for the club lead in appearances.

Lee Nguyen is two games away from becoming the 10th Revolution player to hit the 200 matches mark. Should he earn an assist tonight, it would be his 60th career assist in MLS.

Henry Kessler is 27 minutes away from 1,400 played this season.
