Major League Soccer has announced that the resumption of play following its MLS IS BACK Tournament will work in phases, with the first phase for the Revolution beginning Friday, August 21 at home to Philadelphia.
The league made its announcement Saturday afternoon.
Phase 1 will see all MLS clubs play six games, with 18 additional contests planned. The Revolution are, at current, not allowing fans to attend games at Gillette Stadium. Supporters who have purchased ticket packages for the 2020 season will be contacted this week.
The first phase of the re-start will see the Revolution (1-1-3 in the regular season, plus a loss to the Union in the first knockout round of the MLS IS BACK competition) take on Eastern Conference competition, with three home games.
Friday, Aug. 21 — vs. Philadelphia, 7 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 25 — at DC United, 7 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 29 — vs. New York Red Bulls, 8 p.m. (FS1)
Wednesday, Sept. 2 — vs. New York City FC, 8 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 6 — at Chicago, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 12 — at Philadelphia, 7:30 p.m.
All games will be televised, with five games broadcast on NBC Sports Boston with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies on the call, which will be simulcast on WBZ-FM 98.5. The game against the Red Bulls will be on 98.5 FM with Feldman and Davies, with the televised action broadcast by FS1.
